Frequently Asked Questions

The Next Step

How much dirt will I need to haul in?
This question is one of the most popular that we come across. The answer is always the same unless you are building indoors and that is none. Generally speaking, we will either lower the contour of the land to provide the fill for the jumps while leaving the track lanes elevated, or we will source a location for a catch pond for fill of the obstacles.

What kind of equipment do I need?
Schaefer Tracks has great contracts across the nation and corporate accounts for accessibility. However, often times there is an occasion where a friend of a friend or relative works for an equipment dealer or excavation company and will provide machinery at a far less cost than we can provide. Machinery is generally the most expensive portion of a project with the additional cost of diesel fuel. We utilize 3 types of machines as follows: (1) 6-way blade dozer (John Deere), (1) 3-3.5 yard wheel loader (John Deere 644), (1) tracked skid steer (Cat 257).

How long does it take to build a track?
This is a very broad question but can be answered broadly. While soil condition, weather, and specific project change the construction time, a supercross track usually takes 3-4 days including pad, a motocross track will take anywhere from 2-5 days, and 1 day for your typical arenacross track. Keep in mind, operating hours are usually from dawn to dusk.

How much does it cost to build a track?
There is not a certain answer to this question because of the many factors involved in cost analysis as well as each project is site specific. What we can give you is a better idea of what it would cost with some answers given to some general questions shown below. There are no hidden costs and once a price is agreed upon, a bid proposal and contract will be signed requiring 50% down and 50% due at completion of job.

How can we confirm that we will be pleased with the outcome and we are getting our money worth?
Let 10 years of commitment and dedication be an indicator, let our list of gratified clientele, and if this isn't enough, we will stamp a personal guarantee on the work that is performed that you will be more than satisfied upon completion.
